Independent Level Crossing Audits

Our audits can cover public and private level crossings, mining and heavy-haul railways, industrial sidings and other interfaces between road and rail.

Depending on the agreed scope, an audit may include:

• inspection of boom barriers, flashing lights, audible warnings, signage, power supplies and backup systems
• review of documentation, asset records and maintenance evidence
• assessment against applicable network requirements, road authority requirements and standards including AS 1742.7
• identification of physical defects, emerging risks and gaps in traceability
• photographic evidence and practical, prioritised recommendations

Audit independence and potential conflicts are assessed for each engagement. Where MW Engineers has a product or other project interest, that interest is declared and appropriate separation and governance controls are agreed with the client.

Technology and Delivery Partnerships

MW Engineers is also the official regional representative for PINTSCH Rail Safety Systems in Australia and New Zealand. This relationship gives clients and delivery partners local access to established German level crossing technology, engineering knowledge and product support, including barrier drive systems for conventional, regional, remote and heavy-haul rail applications.

Where PINTSCH technology forms part of a project, MW Engineers can support contractors and system integrators with product selection, technical liaison and application support while they retain responsibility for the wider project and field delivery.
